In 2018 I founded Meneer Goedknegt, a Dutch non-profit online history lesson series, designed to make history more engaging and accessible for students. Dutch history teacher, Rens Goedknegt, covers a wide range of topics, from the Dutch Republic to the British Empire, the Cold War, the New Age of Enlightenment, and the German history of recent decades. With short, focused videos of 3 to 4 minutes each, students can easily learn about the cause-effect relationships around important historical events, in a way that is both engaging and easy to understand. The branding of the series connects with the preferences of the students concerning the style, design, length, and flexibility of the content, making history more visual and accessible. Meneer Goedknegt is also active on Instagram to answer the questions of students about the final exams.

Meneer Goedknegt's primary goal is to make history more visually appealing, which is why I have drawn around 60 characters and icons.
We have made every effort to create a series that closely aligns with students' preferences in terms of style, design, length, content, and flexibility.
